Imagine your child not being able to open their Christmas gifts in the living room on Christmas morning.  Instead, it's by a hospital bedside.

That's why High Country Lights has teamed up Atrium Health Levine Children's, Brenner Children's Hospital in Winston-Salem and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist AirCare, to help raise funds for Santa's Purse for the 2026 season.

This fundraiser provides an unforgettable and unique experience - both in Galax and Winston-Salem.  Raffle tickets being sold are for a chance to welcome Santa to Galax after he flies to Felts Park by Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist AirCare helicopter, November 28th, weather permitting.  Other winners and prizes include a free 6-7 foot tall real Christmas tree from Billy Edwards Choose & Cut Tree Farm in Alleghany County, dinner for four at Mountain Man Grill in Galax, a Chick-fil-A of Mount Airy prize bag, and a gift basket from Alleghany Meat Center & Alleghany General Store.

On drawing night, we'll draw out a name and then draw a prize for that name.  We'll continue drawing names until we run out of prizes.

Tickets are available for $5 each with sales ending Tuesday, November 24th. The drawing will be held later that evening on the High Country Lights Facebook page. The winning ticket holder will have 24 hours to contact us.  If no contact is made, another ticket will be drawn in their place.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to fund Santa's Purse.

Tickets can be purchased at Sparta FloristGalax Recreation Center, or with Robert Hinson and William Bottomley.

Then, Santa will deliver those gifts to Brenner Children's Hospital in Winston-Salem before Christmas, courtesy of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist AirCare.  Children in the hospital will be able to see him land on the helipad, jump out with a bag full of goodies, and deliver to their room.

Let's make a difference in their lives by showing kindness, love and support.
