2014 Season Comes To A Close
As the season comes to a close, this is one of the most dreaded times in having a light show-flipping the switch off. We've seen thousands of people come by to watch and their problems were replaced with smiles. That's the most important thing I want to accomplish in why we celebrate Christmas. It's about giving a gift just like the one all of us received over two-thousand years ago.
A special thanks goes out to Crystal & Hannah Pruitt and Mary Rector. A lot of kids, young & old, had a memorable moment with Santa and his Elf in a gorgeous setting.
Next we turn to Terry Newell. He's donated countless hours of his time to make sure the light show is an unforgettable one. From setting up the trees to rolling out power cords, we can't be thankful enough for his help.
See the light show setup here on WXII 12 News.
Thank you to our generous guests! We collected $1765 out of the donation box, not including donations from the fire station event held on December 20. If we did, that would be over $2K. WOW! One hundred percent of that will be turned over to the fire station and hopefully that will help keep the community safe in times of a crisis. In the past five years there, we've given nearly $8K back.
2015 holds a lot of things including several new props, another conversion to more LED based lights, and several big announcements. I know I have your attention now... But, stay tuned as we get ready for a fun-filled 2015 season.
May God bless you in the New Year.
